About Me
Hi, I’m Alex. I'm a certified Biodynamic Massage practitioner offering therapeutic bodywork treatments in my welcoming treatment room in Waterloo SE1, central London.
Biodynamic Massage is a powerful psychotherapeutic form of touch-based therapy. It aims to release the patterns of tension that hold childhood trauma in the body and prevent us from enjoying the vitality and wellness that is our birthright.

Whether you suffer from low energy, chronic illness, depression, anxiety, overwhelm, insomnia, or bodily aches and pains, I hope that biodynamic massage can help you find greater wellness, peace, and happiness.

"The most fascinating thing for me was to see that patients could be cured by massage, that their neuroses could be cleared simply by working on the body, in many cases without any psychotherapy at all"
Gerda Boyesen, founder of Biodynamic Psychotherapy
What is Biodynamic Massage?
Biodynamic Massage is a unique form of bodywork developed by Norwegian psychologist and physiotherapist Gerda Boyesen in the 1970s. It works with the body's innate self-healing capacity to support emotional release and nervous system regulation, and to promote deep physical and psychological wellbeing.
Unlike conventional massage, biodynamic massage is not just about muscles or tension. It’s based on the principle that the body stores unresolved emotions and stress, accumulated over the course of a lifetime. These can manifest as physical symptoms, energetic blocks, or emotional imbalance.
Through gentle, attuned touch, biodynamic massage helps the body process and discharge these residues, often without the need for words. The work supports the body's self-regulating capacity and, over time, can help restore a sense of internal flow, vitality, and calm. While everyone's journey is different, many clients report reduced anxiety, depression, fatigue, or aches and pains; as well as greater energy, grounding, and wellbeing.
A unique aspect of this method is the use of a stethoscope placed on the abdomen. This allows the therapist (and the client!) to listen to the sounds of digestion—known as psycho-peristalsis—which reflect how the autonomic nervous system is responding in real time. These sounds guide the pace and depth of the work, making each session deeply individualised.

When Gerda Boyesen introduced her idea that the gut is involved in emotional processing, it seemed radical and surprising, but today the gut is widely recognised as the 'second brain', home to its own nervous system of 100 million nerve cells. Many of us would recognise that emotions start in the belly - there's a reason we talk about a 'gut feeling' or 'butterflies in the stomach'. In Biodynamic Massage we work with this 'second brain' to promote the 'digestion' of uncompleted emotional cycles stored in the body.
